THE ADVOCACY COURSE

Part of a new minor in Campaign Management, POLS 3170 (Interest Groups, Lobbying, and Advocacy) has a new component to teach students the tools and techniques of effective advocacy in American politics on the local, state, and national levels. The course includes a two-week block on human rights advocacy with representatives of the peace and human rights communities discussing the special aspects necessary for effective lobbying in the United States. The course is offered every other year; the next offering is spring semester, 2009.
